Catholic Young Adults at St. Tom's
Catholic Young Adults is a ministry based in the Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana. Our group welcomes graduate students, young professionals, and families in their 20s and 30s living in the Greater Lafayette community. Our ministry provides young adults with opportunities for spiritual formation and Christian fellowship. Our goal is to be saints and follow the “upward call” in Christ Jesus.

A Candlemas blessing will take place during weekend Mass on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 1-2. On this feast day, we commemorate the day Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the Temple in Jerusalem 40 days after his birth. The candlelight is an outward and visible sign of Christ, illuminating our hearts and inner being. It is customary on Candlemas to bless candles – those to be used throughout the liturgical year. Please feel free to bring your own home candles to be blessed.

All St. Tom's women are invited to Ladies Mass. The group will attend Daily Mass from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m and then head downstairs to Newman Hall for a potluck dinner.
Catholic Young Adult Women's Galentine's Day Party, February 8th, 11:00 am (see location details in the Women's GroupMe link) ❤️
Join the CYA Women's group for a meal and clothing swap. Bring a dish to share and 5-15 gently used pieces of clothing to swap. Any items left will be donated to Millie's Closet. All are welcome!
Spiritual Restorative Yoga, February 10th, 5:45-6:45 pm, St. Tom's Church-Room 3
Both men and women are welcome to Spiritual Restorative Yoga this semester (February 10, March 10, April 7, and May 5) in Room 3 from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. This class is prayer with core strengthening, stretching, and functional movements to nourish your body and soul. Amy Strasburger will lead the sessions. Bring your mat and a $5 donation!
Evil, Suffering, and the Goodness of God Series, February 11, 18, 25, @ 7-8:30 pm, St. Tom's-basement
A three-week study aimed at answering the following question: Why does God allow evil and suffering? If this question is a stumbling block to friends and family members believing in God come and learn some of the excellent arguments the church has constructed.
